On March 26, OSHA published the revised Hazard Communication Standard, 29CFR 1910.1200, which is referred to as Hazcom 2012. This revision of the standard aligns the US Hazard Communication system to the Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS). Hazcom 2012 mainly impacts chemical manufacturers and importers as all MSDS and labels for covered chemicals will have to be revised but there will be impacts on chemical users as well. This webinar will cover the new standard, explain the classification system, the hazards covered, the labeling and SDS requirements and compliance dates. The speaker will also provide some ideas on what actions you will need to take to prepare. There will be also be time to have your questions answered.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
- recognize new hazard classes.
- identify the new label elements introduced in Hazcom 2012.
- understand the basic concepts of classification under Hazcom 2012.
- identify actions they can take now to prepare for the Hazcom 2012 implementation.
