The Orange County Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers held their first lunch meeting at the Santa Ana offices of the American Red Cross today. The meeting room was packed as the OC ASSE members turned out to listen to Steve Donohoe speak about swimming pool and spa safety.
Debbie M. Leahy-Graves, the Regional Director of the American Red Cross Orange County’s Preparedness, Health and Safety Services, welcomed the OC ASSE to her facility. She also accepted a donation for $150 from Scott Myles, the President of the OC ASSE, on behalf of the O.C. chapter.
Longtime OC ASSE member David Hagan also announced that he just got a service pin from the American Red Cross of Orange County, after 40 years of volunteer service as a trainer of first aid and many other courses.
The next OC ASSE meeting will feature ASSE President-Elect Terrie S. Norris, a former President of the OC ASSE, who will be speaking appropriately at the annual past Presidents meeting of the OC ASSE, on July 20.
The OC ASSE meets monthly at the American Red Cross of Orange County, at 601 N. Golden Circle Dr., in Santa Ana.
